IcFEM Dreamland Mission Hospital was proud to partner with KISEA (Kimilili Special Education Association) and other community stakeholders during a successful Cerebral Palsy Awareness Event held on 28th March 2026 at Kimilili Subcounty Hospital.
The event aimed to create awareness about cerebral palsy, promote inclusion, and educate the community on the importance of supporting children and adults living with the condition. Through educational sessions, community engagement, and advocacy activities, participants learned that cerebral palsy is a neurological condition affecting movement, posture, and coordination, and that individuals living with CP can live meaningful and independent lives with the right support and care.
The awareness campaign also emphasized important community education messages aimed at reducing stigma and promoting acceptance. Participants were educated that cerebral palsy is not contagious and should not be viewed as a curse, but rather as a condition that requires understanding, care, and support. The sessions further highlighted the importance of early therapy and continuous support in improving mobility, communication, independence, and overall quality of life for individuals living with cerebral palsy.
Community members were also encouraged to promote inclusion, dignity, accessibility, and equal opportunities for all people regardless of disability.
